Engineering a climate change solution

Climate change is the most significant challenge we have ever faced. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is firm in its conclusion that ‘climate change is real and human activities are the main cause’.

As a professional engineering institution, we believe engineers have the skills, insights and ingenuity to help tackle climate change in ways that optimise efficiency, economy, safety and reliability.

Engineers are problem solvers and innovators, with a unique world perspective. Most of these issues are significant, challenging and require unprecedented collaborative action.

Engineering is central to solving them.

What this means to the IET

At the IET, we are striving to become a leading net-zero organisation.

We are determined to ‘walk the walk’ on sustainability and have undertaken many initiatives to accomplish this.
